Every month, American Consumer Credit Counseling will post a poll question on its homepage. For the month of January, ACCC asked 2 questions about holiday spending.
- How much did you spend on holiday shopping in 2011?
- Did you spend more or less in 2011 than you did in 2010?
Here’s what we found out…
We had 968 responses to the poll. Here are the results…
How much did you spend on holiday shopping in 2011?
Did you spend more or less in 2011 than you did in 2010?
Conclusions… So, what do these results tell us?
The average person spends between $250 and $1000 on the holidays, and most people probably set a certain limit on holiday spending. It’s common for people to spend similar amounts from year to year, although a good amount of respondents did spend less this year. Certain circumstances like a change in family or finances could account for a change in spending.
What do you think? Is this too much/too little to spend?
